As a child, Chef Kerry spent a lot of his time learning how to cook from his mother, and sometimes what not to do. His first job as a teenager was with a storefront bakery where he learned pastry and baking skills. He is primarily a self-taught kitchen enthusiast. After retiring from a career as a broadcast technician he wanted to share his passion for good food. Many of his friends and relatives have suggested that he open a restaurant, but the timing and circumstances were not quite right. That is, until now with the creation of Café Residential.
Chef Kerry has assisted in cooking classes at Sur Las Table. He was professionally trained by the American Personal and Private Chef Association and is a member in good standing. The APPCA has more than 1200 active chef members across the United States.
